The physicians at Retina Associates of Cleveland are pleased to announce the addition of retinal specialist Jerome P. Schartman, MD to the practice.  Dr. Schartman recently completed his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center after graduating from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and receiving his ophthalmology residency training at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.  

During his residency and fellowship his interests included studying novel medical treatments for exudative retinal diseases, outcomes of retinal detachment repair, and the management of diabetic macular edema. His training included all aspects of the management of retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration as well as training in posterior uveitis and intraocular tumors.

He and his wife Leila have chosen to make Cleveland their home and his wife looks forward to starting her practice in Endocrinology.
