The 2009 Arnall Patz Medal has been awarded to Lawrence J. Singerman, MD, founder of Retina Associates of Cleveland, Inc.  This prestigious award was presented on October 1^st, 2009 during a special combined meeting of the American Society of Retina Specialists, The Macula Society, and The Retina Society, which was held in New York City.  This is the largest gathering of retinal specialists ever to be held in the world.

The Arnall Patz Medal was awarded to Dr. Singerman for his outstanding contributions in the study of retinal vascular diseases and macular diseases.  Arnall Patz, MD is the past chairman of the Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and was a mentor to Dr. Singerman during Dr. Singerman’s retina fellowship training at Johns Hopkins.
