Dedication to diabetes research and service
The Dietrich Diabetes Research Institute honored Dr. Lawrence J. Singerman, MD, FACS, FICS, of Retina Associates of Cleveland, with the 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award in Diabetes Research for his contributions to the field of diabetes. This prestigious Award was presented to Dr. Singerman at the second annual Chairman’s Forum on Diabetes Research in October.
Dr. Singerman’s dedication to improving the lives of people with diabetes extends to an active research program. He has been the principal investigator in over 60 retinal clinical trials and co-investigator in many others. During his full and distinguished career, Dr. Singerman has also given his time to the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland (DAGC) – first as a Board member and then as Board President. In recognition of his service as President, Executive Committee member (10 years) and Board member (15 years), the DAGC made Dr. Singerman its first Honorary Board Member for Life.
