Joe Coney (2008) organized the Cleveland Medical Association-Radio One Health Fair at two venues on April 26 and 27.  Radio One cosponsored the event and gave the program local media coverage.  They recruited volunteers from a variety of medical specialties, including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Psychiatry, Ophthalmology, GI, Gen Surgery, Neurology, Radiology, and Pediatric Surgery.

There were booths and tables available for the various specialties, and specialty talks were given at various times. Joe spoke in the open forum about Eye Care America, and since the target audience was a high risk population group, he also organized a glaucoma screening booth.

Radio One has asked someone to volunteer from the organization to speak on WERE talk Radio, 1490 AM to talk about their specality on Thursday, April 24th and Friday, April 25th.  The Health Fair also provided door prizes and booth give-a-ways such as glucometers, blood pressure meters, and scales - all of which had been donated for this purpose.
