Dr. Coney discussed how he got into retina, diversity and inclusion in clinical trials, and the importance of mentorship. He also mentioned that “the biggest burden for people not knowing they can do something is because they don’t see people like them doing it”.

Dr. Coney is a great example of someone who believed he could become a doctor, and he did. He pays it forward by mentoring high school and college students, showing them they can also achieve their goals and live their dreams.
