Dr. Singerman presents updates on “Genetic testing for AMD” at European Retina Meeting in Lugano, Switzerland

Lawrence J. Singerman, MD, was invited to participate as distinguished faculty for the European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology (ESASO) Medical Retina Meeting, which was held in Lugano, Switzerland in June, 2014.  He presented on a number of topics, including “Genetic Testing for AMD and Associated Anti-Oxidant/Zinc Recommendations,” “Dealing with Non-Responsive or Sub-Responsive nAMD,” “AMD and Myopic CNV Clinical Cases”, and “OCT and Auto-fluorescence Features in AMD.”

Dr. Singerman has been a principal investigator in over 100 multicenter clinical studies sponsored by the NIH and pharmaceutical companies. He has been appointed to numerous scientific advisory boards for corporations developing advanced drugs to combat AMD and diabetic retinopathy, including the advisory board for ArcticDx, which developed the Vita Risk™ genotype-directed eye vitamin therapy testing that Dr. Singerman discussed in his lecture.
