Retina Associates doctors participate in recent Diabetes Symposium

Lawrence J. Singerman, MD, Jerome P. Schartman, MD, Llewelyn J. Rao, MD, and our newest physician, Lili G. Kaplan, MD, participated in a “Diabetes Symposium” sponsored by the Cleveland Ophthalmological Society.  Dr. Singerman was a co-moderator for the event, which took place at the DoubleTree Hotel in Independence, Ohio, on October 14th, 2014. 

Dr. Singerman also had the honor of introducing Neil M. Bressler, MD, who is Chief of the Retina Division and professor of ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, MD.  Dr. Bressler gave two lectures, Top 5 Surprises from the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network (DRCR.net) and The Perfect Storm in Diabetic Macular Edema: Growing Epidemic with Underutilization of Health Care.

Dr. Schartman spoke on Diabetes and Cataract Surgery, Dr. Rao lectured on Vitrectomy for Complications of Diabetic Retinopathy, and Dr. Kaplan gave a presentation on  Diabetic Retinopathy Case Studies.
