Retina Associates of Cleveland involved in annual American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting

Several of our Retina Associates physicians chaired or presented information to colleagues at the 2016 American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) meeting that was recently held in Chicago.
Dr. Kaplan was the presenting author and Dr. Zegarra a co-author for their poster entitled “Long-term Progression of Hydroxychloroquine Retinopathy.”  The poster presented the results of their study to “…better understand the course of hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) retinopathy after drug cessation in early and advanced retinopathy.”
Dr.  Zegarra also co-authored a 2nd poster entitled “Intravitreal Dexamethasone Implant in Retinitis Pigmentosa-Related Macular Edema,” which reported on the use of intravitreal dexamethasone implant in a large series of patients with cystoid macular edema (CME) and retinitis pigmentosa (RP).”
Dr. Coney co-chaired a session entitled “Update on the Affordable Care Act:  Fulfilled Dreams or Broken Promises?” to address the many questions healthcare providers have pertaining to the ACA and whether it will stand the test of time.
Dr. Singerman chaired the “Arnall Patz Lecture” session and had the honor of presenting the Arnall Patz medal to the 2016 recipient, Paul Sternberg, Jr., MD.
