Dr. Coney performs first drug release implant procedure with SUSVIMO® in northern Ohio

On Friday, December 5, Dr. Coney and his surgical team performed the first drug release implant procedure with SUSVIMO® (ranibizumab injection) in northern Ohio. Susvimo is a tiny implant placed inside of the eye that releases medication slowly and steadily over time for Wet AMD and Diabetic Eye diseases. This replaces the need for frequent injections.
This patient was receiving an eye injection for wet AMD every four to five weeks. The permanent, refillable implant reduces treatment frequency to one to two times per year. It’s a 30-minute procedure that sends patients home the same day. Great job to Dr. Coney and his surgical team! Learn more about Susvimo here: https://www.susvimo.com/wet-amd/how-it-works.html
