Dr. Nothnagel received his BA degree from the University of Kansas and his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri.  He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City and completed his retinal training at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.  He has practiced medical and surgical retina in Northeast Ohio for over 30 years.

Dr. Nothnagel’s areas of expertise, among others, includes medical treatment of age-related macular degeneration and retinal vascular disease as well as surgical repair of retinal detachments.  In addition, he has extensive experience in medical and surgical treatment of diabetic retinopathy.
