Dr. Wilker completed his undergraduate training at Stetson University and went on to earn a medical degree from Case Western Reserve University. Following an internship in Internal Medicine at University of Florida, he returned to Case Western Reserve University to complete his residency in ophthalmology. He received his fellowship training in retina at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.
He is board certified in ophthalmology. He previously served as faculty at University Hospitals of Cleveland as an Assistant Professor. As Vice Director of the Retinal Disease Analysis Reading Center (REDIARC), he has contributed to the success of countless research initiatives across the globe, helping to revolutionize treatments for retina patients. He continues to be involved in research, having served as primary investigator on numerous retina studies. His medical interests include age-related macular degeneration, vascular diseases, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and uveitis. He is an active classical pianist, having an undergraduate degree in Music. He practiced in Central Florida for 8 years in private practice before returning to Cleveland, OH, to be closer to family and friends.
