Physician Assistant 

JOB SUMMARY:
The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide health care services to patients under the direction of a physician. PA's are academically and clinically trained to perform many of the tasks that physicians usually do and are accountable for their own actions and accountable to their supervising physicians 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. 

EDUCATION/LICENSING:
1. Graduate of Accredited PA program (required)
2. State of Ohio Licensed Physician Assistant
3. DEA eligible
4. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS)
5. Experience in acute care settings as a PA is required.

ABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Clinical provider with a strong interest in ophthalmic surgery.
2. Comfortable with basic surgical techniques and patient care. Interested in learning advanced concepts in microsurgery and acute perioperative management.
3. Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.
4. Contributes to a physician’s efficiency by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
5. Recommends options and courses of action for patient care.
6. Implements physician directives.
7. Assesses patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examination including obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
8. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
9. Performs post-operative evaluations in collaboration with physician. 
10. Provides community of care by developing and implementing patient-management plans.
11. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
12. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; and enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
13. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
14. Develops health care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experimental growth opportunities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Prolonged periods of standing during surgical procedures. 
2. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. 

 

Medical Receptionist

 Retina Associates of Cleveland Inc., one of Ohio’s largest private Ophthalmology practices, is currently seeking full-time medical receptionists for several of our office locations.

 This position will include scheduling appointments, electronic filing, operating a multi- line phone system, checking-in/checking-out patients, verifying medical insurance information as well as other tasks assigned on an as needed basis. We are looking for a candidate with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and one that can take and follow directions with minimal error.

 Previous experience is preferred, but not required. Some Saturdays may be required. Ability to work as part of a team in a very fast paced environment while maintaining professional interaction is required.

Experience as medical receptionist: 1 year (Preferred)

 

 Ophthalmic Technicians

Retina Associates of Cleveland, Inc., one of Ohio’s largest private ophthalmology practices, is currently seeking full-time and part-time Ophthalmic Technicians to join our team. As a technician, you will work directly with the patients and physicians each day, performing tasks such as: working- up patients, assisting physicians while in the exam room, operating visual testing equipment, and other duties assigned on an as needed basis. The ideal candidate will exhibit a positive attitude, have a passion for patient care, a willingness to learn, and can take and follow direction with minimal error. Great opportunity for students taking gap year(s) to accrue clinical hours.

Additional Information:

Entry level+

This role requires daily use of electronic medical record software programs and computers

Previous experience is preferred but not required

Hours can range from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday

Travel to other offices may be necessary

Must be available to work some Saturday’s each month
